A farm in the heart of the Friulian Dolomites.
Our story
The Saliet farm was born in 2016 from a radical life choice dictated by a passion for the mountains and a fascination for the world of medicinal plants.
The use of herbs has always been in balance between magic and science. It has accompanied mankind since ancient times and it finds its maximum splendor in the dark ages of the Middle Ages while accompanying us up to the present day.
These forces have given way to a project that has been brought into reality through the start-up of a farm in the heart of the Friulian Dolomites within the small mountain town of Claut.

The Shop
Since January 2019, we have had a small company shop where you can find all our products.
Essential oils, dried herbs, saffron, honey and even small fruits.
The shop is located inside the company center, in the artisan area of Claut, in the Pinedo area.
We are present every day for most of the year but with advance notice it is possible to organize a presentation of the company and, if desired, a visit to the plants.

Curiosities
In the municipalities of Claut and Cimolais there is a historic tradition in the processing of mountain pine for the creation of the so-called "mugolio", which was widely used in the confectionery and herbal sector until the early 70s.
Eventually this processing was abandoned due to the low profitability resulting from the use of aromas and synthetic active ingredients.
One of our goals is to recover the traditional processing of this plant, in particular for the production of the well-known mountain pine essential oil.

The Educational and Social Farm
The company also aims to protect the environment through guided tours for educational purposes, open to all interested parties. In particular towards the most disadvantaged categories, thus engaging in social work as well.
The visits serve to illustrate the world of agriculture in a precious and protected territory such as that of the Friulian Dolomites, a UNESCO heritage site, making visitors discover how the different products reach our homes: from honey to strawberries, from oils to saffron.
The social commitment and educational activities therefore aim to make visitors aware of the fragility of a unique territory.
